These are Extra Large, Mature Pine Cones from a Loblolly tree grove in North Carolina. These pine cones have grown to maturity (approx. 3 years to maturity). These XL pine cones are perfect for decorating for the Autumn and Winter, great for rustic crafts; rustic wedding supplies, wreaths, fall decor, holiday craft items etc.

Included in this listing is XL Pine Cones from the Loblolly Pine Tree, Pinus taeda,well known as the most popular species of Southern Yellow Pine.

These pine cones have many little spikes on them....you can see them in the detail photos.

After these have been collected, sifted and sorted; we then treat them to destroy any possible insects by slow roasting them in an oven for several hours....rendering the cones clean and dry.

The cones range from approximately 3-5 inches (7.6-12.7cm) long x 2.5-3inch diameter (6.4-7.6cm) and oval shaped with prickles on the underside of the scales.
